Before voting, legislators need to see how much money is being spent on elections unnecessarily, such as when there are more open association board seats than there are candidates for election. AB 1799 would allow immediate installation of candidates when there are not more candidates than open seats which is an \"uncontested election\". This avoids spending money on printing and mailing ballot packets that can otherwise be used for community maintenance and operations.
